I love that the word ‘self-awareness’ is just an epithet and not a true definition. Instead of our self-awareness being the sum of our behaviors, it is the sum of our inner selves and how much we are able to see their presence in our lives.

So, the self-awareness that allows us to see our inner selves is the first and most important step in self-awareness. There are other steps that we can take to build self-awareness that you can read about in the Self-Awareness section.

To develop self-awareness, we need to have a clearer view of the self and the environment around us. So, the first step is to look closely at ourselves. We can look at ourselves as people who are happy or sad. We can look at ourselves as people who are good or bad.
